Maple Leafs, Lace and Elegance

Our Wedding:  April 21, 2012

Based on my husbands love for the Toronto Maple Leafs we knew right away the colours had to be sapphire blue and white.  While he would have preferred to just wear his jersey instead of a tux I had to get creative to satisfy this groomzilla and my old fashioned love for lace and elegance.

From top to bottom:

Have a sentimental jewel? Makes a perfect accent to your bouquet.  In this bouquet I used a broach which my Grandmother and Great-Aunt both wore on my Great-Aunt's wedding day.  I added the other one to my sister's bridal bouquet as well.

Bridal bouquet included Queen Anne's lace, pearls, rhinestones, hydrangeas, stephanotis, lily of the valley, ranunculus and satin.

The bridesmaids bouquets included hydrangeas, tulips, lily of the valley, anemones, silver pearls and satin.

The grooms boutonniere included a tulip, hydrangea, stephanotis and a blue maple leaf to represent his love for the Leafs.  I also made my fascinator using a small feather piece I picked up from a local bridal shop but found it was missing something.  I spiced it up with a piece of lace material and sewed a rhinestone vintage effect button on it.  Thank you Vixenz Hair Studio for the great hair! All the girls loved it!

Our centrepieces consisted of tulips with a bit of grass in a square vase.  The venue thought they were real!  This made me very happy as that's what I always strive for in every creation.  Thank you Jenna from The Waterfront Conference Centre, Hamilton for making the table look so beautiful!  A fabulous venue!
